This book is a collection of interesting facts concerning all recorded executions in Nottinghamshire. There is no doubt that in the olden days, before records were kept, there must have been a number of executions but of those, unfortunately, nothing will ever be heard.

The main sources of information have been, 'Wilson's Gallows Hill Rememberancer', 'Executions In Nottingham' printed by Sutton Brothers in 1860, and from the mass of newspapers, books and documents held at the Local Studies Section of the County Library at Angel Row, Nottingham.
